A good shot starts with a level, evenly pressed puck. The wide steel ring sits on the rim of the basket and keeps the base flat while you press, so the puck comes out level.
The distributor goes first. Three blades spread the grounds evenly across the basket before you tamp. Walnut on top, stainless steel underneath.
